Innovation at work
About MAC Company
MAC Company was founded in 2019 by Peter Christianson and Tom Lykken. They saw a need in the market for a compact loader with better visibility and minimal ground and turf disturbance. They collaborated to design the SwingSteer loader and the mid-size ProSeries attachments.
Peter has been in the Ag & CE equipment industry for over 40 years. He first worked with skid steers in 1973, demonstrating and selling the Hydra Mac, which was the first hydraulic drive skid steer loader. After joining his family's dealership, he operated a dealership, Cl Farm Power, in Fargo North Dakota. Peter was also a partner in Fargo Products and was instrumental in the development of aftermarket tracks for row crop tractors. In 2002 he joined forces with David Meyer at Titan machinery while continuing to work closely with Fargo Products and was instrumental in driving the development of combine tracks for CHi. Innovative solutions that create progress and improve productivity have always been his passion.
Tom Lykken has been in product development for nearly 50 years. He was Chief Engineer at the CNHi
"Steiger" tractor plant during the development of tracks for CHi 4WD tractors, initially on the 9000 series tractors, and then led the development of the totally new ST tractors that are largely unchanged and continue to be a flagship CHi product today. His creativity, innovative approach to product development and engineering experience, including articulated steering, powertrains and hydraulics was critical to the development of the SwingSteer™ SW380 and all the attachments that make it so versatile.
MAC Company has patents and patents pending on the SwingSteer ™ and ProSeries attachments, protecting their innovative designs. Innovation at work perfectly describes MAC Company and the driving motivation of its founders.
In 2025, Bad Boy, Inc. purchased the MAC Company to expand Bad Boy's equipment offerings. Bad Boy plans to continue operation out of the MAC Company headquarters in West Fargo and will retain all current employees. MAC Company co-founders, Peter Christianson (CEO) and Tom Lykken (Chief Engineer), will remain with the company, primarily focusing on the success of the articulated loader line of business. Bad Boy and MAC Company are working together to enhance the current SwingSteer ™ and expand Bad Boy's light construction equipment lineup.
Headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas, Bad Boy is the brand that revolutionized the zero-turn lawn mower game. Bad Boy was the first brand to market zero-turn mowers to rural landowners and homeowners (not just commercial mowers) with a simple promise: A better mower at a better price. Bad Boy became the fastest-selling mower in America, extending its engineering expertise into other categories, including Bad Boy's line of tractors the Bandit UTV, the E-Series of 80-volt handheld tools, and commercial-grade gas tools. Most recently, they've introduced powerful pressure washer models and proudly entered the light construction category. Bad Boy is known for sporty design, uncompromising power, relentless innovation and a signature attitude that is truly one-of-a-kind. This led to the brand's slogan, "Power. Performance. Attitude."
